Hi, I’m Paul and I’m the guy behind The Diamond Site and I thought I would create a short about page to give you some info about me and the site.
So who am I? My name is Paul Haywood FGA DGA and I’m a fully qualified gemologist through the Gemmological Association of Great Britain as I passed their Gemology Diploma and Diamond Diploma (with distinction and I won an award for my score, which I’m holding in the picture).
So what is The Diamond Site and how did it come into being?

A Bit About Me
I have been in the jewelry trade for over a decade, I started out working for a pawnbrokers, where my love for jewelry, Diamonds and gemstones began.
Unfortunately, some health problems meant I had to leave but I knew I didn’t want to leave the industry, so I started my own online jewelry retailer in 2012 and ran that for 7 years, in this time I also qualified as a Gemologist and Diamond specialist with the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (also known as the Gem-A), which is the oldest and most well established gemological training provider in the world.
At the end of 2019, I transitioned from retail into digital marketing and content creation, with this becoming my main business for a few years.
An Idea Was Born
By the time 2024 rolled around, I had been building websites for many years and as I moved into content creation and education about Diamonds, I began to realize just how challenging trying to find the perfect Diamond online is.
This is because there are so many retailers, with so many Diamonds (even more so now with lab-grown Diamonds).
So I decided to try and bring all my skills together, which included:
- 7 years of selling jewelry online
- Being a Gemologist and Diamond specialist
- My ability to build and market websites
And set about building a Diamond search engine, that allows you to easily see what Diamonds are available to you, along with an in-depth educational section to not only allow you to learn about these amazing gems but also find your perfect Diamond.
